Posting about this now, since Yelben reminded me of it recently.
In years past, several of us have participated in a swap/exchange of sorts. We all make stuff (i.e. cookies, or candy, or something delicious) or pick it up at some store if you don't really bake/make stuff, and ship it out to whomever participates. So come holiday time, you send out boxes of delicious stuff and in return receive boxes of different delicious stuff.
Examples of things sent and received in the past: Dave's fudge (omg), Yelben's chocolate-covered-stuff-of-awesome (nothing creepy guys, he goes to this candy place, sheesh), Ardria's pumpkin cookies of awesome, my...whatever sounds fun to make this year, TBD (I've done various cookies, truffles, barks, crack, etc.). Quantities? Usually whatever you can stuff in a small box. I tend to grab a 6"x6"x6" box and fill it up. You can grab one of the small boxes from USPS (if in the US) that is mailed for a flat rate, whatever you stuff in it to any continental location. It's somewhat flexible.
If you choose to participate, bear in mind that your name and address will need to be provided. Those who are participating will see it, but no one else. This is a completely voluntary thing (except for Dave, because I need that fudge man), so no worries if you don't care to join in. It's early yet, but with my luck I'd forget to post in early November (and it's late October, close enough!) and mess it up.
Tenative timeline:
-by December 1, decide if you are participating or not, and PM your name/mailing address to me
-by mid-December, mail out any and all packages to participants
-by holiday time, receive your delicious goodies and devour them!
Feel free to use this thread to express interest, intent, or ask questions. Or comment. Or whatever.
I'm going to be late for work if I don't stop typing and GTFO.
